Our official address is 13292 New England Highway, Hodgson Vale. Heading south from Toowooomba on Ruthven Street, we are off the right side of the New England Highway, approx. 14 km from the CBD. (Look for the sign).

This has been the home of TARMAC for the past 50 years.

We have grown from the very early days where pilots flew from non improved grounds across the District into a strong and vibrant Club with members from all major age groups and a variety of aviation interests from small foam models, Helicopters, Gliders, through larger scale civilian and military aircraft etc.

We always have the welcome mat out for modellers from other MAAA affiliated Clubs who drop in whilst visiting the beautiful Darling Downs or wishing to hold specific events and taking advantage of our facilities.

Anyone living across the Darling Downs, there are many good reasons to join us at TARMAC. Whether you are a seasoned pilot, a complete beginner or somewhere in between, we welcome you just the same. For those of you who may be new to the hobby, we have instructors in our club who can get you up and flying in no time. We run monthly workshops evening where different members provide an overview of what they are up to and get to show off there facilities.

For TARMAC our 150 metre grass runway is central to all of our activities and when work is needed to improve or just maintain our facilities we find members come and contribute.

You will find us out at the field most days of the week, but primarily on Wednesday and Sunday. If the weather permits flying, then you can almost bet that some of us will be out there with a model (or two), if not members still turn for a coffee and chat.

In 2024, TARMAC will celebrate 50 years as a formulated Club.
