Spring is a particularly significant time for the Darling Downs, especially for Toowoomba. The gardens are in full bloom, drawing an increasing number of visitors eager to experience the stunning floral displays and shows.

For aeromodellers, the arrival of spring marks the end of winter’s chill, as the notorious windy days begin to wane. With longer, warmer days ahead, flying becomes even more enjoyable. TARMAC sees this as an ideal opportunity to host a Fun Fly event, inviting aeromodellers from across the Darling Downs to come together for a day of camaraderie. Meanwhile, spouses and partners are welcome to explore the town’s exceptional gardens.

This Fun Fly is all about showcasing and enjoying your favorite models. Wings Over The Downs will be offering a $50 voucher for the overall Pilot’s Choice, as well as a Lucky Door Prize. Refreshments, including drinks and our BBQ specials, will be available for purchase, along with complimentary tea and coffee. Flying will commence at 8:00 a.m., with briefings scheduled throughout the day.

LifeFlight, which provides exceptional rescue services across Queensland, will be the beneficiary of all profits from the event, in recognition of the vital work they do. Several TARMAC members are employed by LifeFlight, making this cause particularly meaningful.
