Model Aeronautical Association of Queensland

This is a most important area and list.

The MAAA requires that Heavy and Gas Turbine powered Model Aircraft be operated in conformance to the CASA regulations, the MAAA Manual of Procedures, and MAAA safety requirements.

MAAA rules require that any Model Aircraft that weighs between 7Kgs and 50Kgs, Dry Weight, (without fuel but with all batteries) requires a valid Model Aircraft 3 year Permit to Fly, before it is allowed to take off and be flown.

A Model Aircraft 3 Year Permit to Fly, is issued by an MAAA Inspector: FW25, RW25, FW50, RW50 with/without Gas Turbine (GT) Endorsement, depending on the aircraft classification.

For Further information please go to the MAAA Website MOP’s  MOP015.

Listed below are the inspectors for the period 1 July, 2014 to 30 June, 2017.

For further details or to make contact please refer to your club secretary.
