Toowoomba Amateur Radio Model Aero Club – TARMAC

2024 our golden jubilee, a year of celebration for TARMAC

50 years ago pilots flew from non improved grounds across the District building into a strong and vibrant Club at our Hodgsonvale home. With members from all major age groups and careers, sharing aviation interests from small foam models, Helicopters, Gliders, through larger scale civilian and military aircraft etc.

We always have the welcome mat out for modellers from other MAAA affiliated Clubs who drop in whilst visiting the beautiful Darling Downs or wishing to hold specific SIG events whilst taking advantage of our facilities.

You will find members out at the field on most days, with Wednesdays and Sundays being the majors, regardless of the weather. Enjoying the clear skies and ample thermals, or on those days where the model stays in the car, enjoy the social aspects over a cup of coffee.

On Sunday June 9th we will be holding a ‘Pilots Choice Fun Fly’ and BBQ.

Come along and bring your favourite model/s. Entrants can then vote on your favourite model from a number of different categories I.e. Warbirds, Civilian, Glider, Helicopter, as well as your overall Champion Model on the day.

Our CFI will give all Pilots an overview of flight patterns and no fly areas.
